lyrics

Two more drinks and be done for the night. He cocks his gun in the cold moonlight and takes another hit five miles down the track. “Where you going?” Well it’s what I asked. “Where the south wind blows and I ain’t coming back, no I ain’t coming back.” We never said goodbye, but he never felt more alive. So go your child will be fine. He’ll know to take care of his own this time. Four more just to finish the fight, five angry, lonely, drunken nights and a tip of the hat, try though you might. You’ll walk away spent again wondering how it all began, but what if I said the dead already won. They stared at us with a fire in their eyes, with a look of despise, claiming gods on their side. We stared right back with no evil intend, wishing them the best, but to hell with the rest. The words that were sprayed they’re just part of the play, of the elegant fray that they claim is life, and our minds they weren’t fine, because we spent too much time worrying about the people that we left behind.
